Check out Shakira on Letterman peforming Loca. I’m not sure who liked it more, me or Dave.
Jay-Z’s new book, Decoded, is set to hit bookstores November 16th. The cover, (which also doubles as Hov’s profile pic on Twitter) is an image from Andy Warhol’s 1984 “Rorschach” paintings. The book will feature illustrations and decode 36 of Jigga’s songs. Random House plans to release Decoded as an eBook and iPhone/iPad application that i will definitely be copping. I cant wait to read all about the illuminati hip hop mogul’s outlooks on all his past work.
Mark Ronson’s album is titled Record Collection and has been released this week. Record Collection features collaborations with Ghostface Killah, Boy George, Q-Tip, MNDR, Simon LeBon, Wiley and is put all together smoothly. His Duran Duran inspired album artwork is a good look too. Here’s a few of my favs.
Marina and the Diamonds
I’ve been listening through out the week and this chic is pretty good. Whereas IMO La Roux and Little Boots are pure pop, it seems like Marina and the Diamonds has a bit more substance. Marina’s defintely got a powerful voice and know hows to use it. If I had to classify her music against current female lead bands, it would land somewhere in between Ida Maria and Little Boots. She’s not as angry as Ida, but not as corny as Little Boots. The lead single ‘I am not a robot’ is pretty catchy and the video is visually captivating.
Travis Barker is dropping an album and his 1st single is featuring The Cool Kids. The song “Jump Down” mixes Barker’s drum skills with a futuristic ish beat and ill flo that we’ve come to expect from The cool Kids. Peep it…Enjoy
Passion Pit- Sleepyhead (Borgore Remix)
This song might be in my top 5 favorites on this blog. Passion Pit is a great band that I will be fortunate enough to see in Oct. I will thank you in advance for this record.
Check out this band; Yeasayer. Such a cool sound, heres a couple of their new stuff to enjoy on Taco Tuesday.
The band Chromeo has been one of my personal favs for awhile now. They appeared on David Letterman’s show last night which signifies their rise considering it was the first night of premiere week. Here’s a few of my personals.

This song is really dope… Arcade Fire- ‘Ready to Start’
